2020 Vaccination Clinic (1).jpg

was started by Madeline Phuong, a seventeen-year-old from Fort Wayne, Indiana who has been creating art with watercolors since the age of nine. She has works in oil, acrylic, graphite, charcoal, ceramic, recycled plastic, and mixed media. Madeline's pARTner in crime Roxie, a standard poodle, was rescued from a family that could no longer afford to keep her. This gave Madeline the idea for A Second Chance in February of 2018. She started printing her original artwork on note cards, and sold them to benefit local animal nonprofits, shelters, and clinics.

To date, she has sold over 2,200 cards. From those sales, Madeline donated over $2,000 to the Allen County SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and $1,500 to H.O.P.E. (Humane Organization for the Prevention of Euthanasia) for Animals. These donations sponsored two vaccination clinics that benefited 355 pets in Fort Wayne. In March of 2021, she raised and donated over $4,100 through a matching donation campaign at the Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control. All donations went to the Angel Fund, which covers the cost of heartworm treatment for dogs at the FWACC shelter. More recently, on Giving Tuesday (on November 30) of 2021, she donated and raised $6,000 through matching donation campaigns at Humane Fort Wayne and Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control.

Madeline has spent the summers of 2019, 2020, and 2021 at local farmers' markets and artists' fairs promoting her cause, logging in over 130 hours. She accepts commissioned artwork in her free time. Madeline continues to find new ways to raise funds benefiting pets and pet parents in her community through the generous support of local businesses and complete strangers who share her passion for the arts and animals. She invites you to browse her Gallery and Etsy shop, and thanks you for helping support her cause!
